Kirk Reinitz, CPA President and Chief Development Officer
Kirk has extensive experience as a healthcare executive and has successfully built and lead ADVOCATE, a national radiology RCM company. Kirk is a highly recognized healthcare executive and is known for identifying future trends and as an innovator in developing and providing value-added technology-enabled RCM solutions. He is widely respected as a customer advocate and is a committed entrepreneur. Kirk’s background includes extensive healthcare operations management, new business development, marketing and revenue strategy management.
Before starting ADVOCATE, he served as Vice President of Operations for a privately held RCM provider, Medical Management Sciences, where he led operations and client relationship management for the northeast and mid-west regions. He holds BS in Accounting from the University of Maryland and is a CPA.
Becky Enderle Chief Financial Officer
As CFO, Becky is responsible for the overall financial strategy and direction of Advocate. Within finance, she guides the controller, treasury, accounting, investor relations, Internal audit and tax functions to pursue the company’s strategic plan and meet its clients’ needs.
Prior to joining Advocate, Becky held previous CFO roles with Atlas Capital Services and AmeriClean Distributors (formerly E.J. Thomas Company). During her tenure, Becky was instrumental in the integration of multiple acquisitions, building financial support capabilities and leading the HR and IT teams.
Outside of work, Becky enjoys traveling, reading, and sports. Becky received her BSBA in Accounting from The Ohio State University, her MBA from Capital University and is a licensed CPA in the state of Ohio. She is an active member of the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Jon Zygmunt Vice President of Information Technology
Jon oversees Business Intelligence, IT Implementation, and technology outsourcing. As VP of Technology, Jon provides leadership in building and supporting Advocate’s information technology infrastructure and business intelligence areas. He is a key figure in software development, technology strategy and budgeting, and developing analytical technology solutions.
Jon has 20+ years of information technology experience, as well as strong leadership and development knowledge. Previously, he was Vice President of Information Technology for one of the Top 10 largest national industrial distributors. Jon received a Master of Science in Management Information Systems, a Master of Business Administration, and a Bachelor of Computer Science. He also has multiple technology and business-related certificates.
Some of Jon’s hobbies include spending time with his family and community involvement including charity fundraising events such as local pancake breakfasts and volunteering as the Fundraising Chair with a local Boy Scouts of America organization, where he is known as the Popcorn Kernel and also organizes scouting events.
Jeff Kolda Vice President of Client Services
Jeff has overall responsibility for the Advocate Client Services team. Jeff has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Masters of Business Administration from The Ohio State University. He has over 30 years’ experience managing Sales and Client Management teams for both large and small companies in diverse industries such as technology, banking, and distribution. Jeff has a passion for mentoring and developing Client Service teams and individuals within an organization. At ADVOCATE, Jeff’s focus is on doing just that in order to deliver even greater value to our clients and ensure their overall satisfaction.
Sarah Herzog Vice President of Operations
Sarah has been employed by ADVOCATE since 2005. Over the last 13 years, Sarah has been involved with every operational department within ADVOCATE, as well as implementations and sales. This valuable insight and expertise of the entire billing process assists in her execution of RCM strategies throughout the organization. In her current role as Vice President of Operations, Sarah oversees all operational activities to ensure the goals and objectives of both ADVOCATE and our clients are being met.
Sarah is an active member of both the RBMA and the HMBA. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Ohio University. In her free time Sarah enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, as well as anything related to athletics.
Ashley Petiya Human Resources Manager
Ashley has been employed by ADVOCATE since 2015 as the Human Resources Manager. She possesses experience in several aspects of human resources including recruitment, employee training, incentives, team building, managing change, strategic staff planning, benefits, and payroll. She also has a passion for helping to develop company culture and developing her staff. In her role, Ashley is a member of ADVOCATE’s Leadership Team.
Ashley holds a Bachelor of Science degree and an Associate of Science Degree from Franklin University in Columbus, Ohio. She is an active member of multiple professional organizations including the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), the Human Resource Association of Central Ohio (HRACO) and the Employers Resource Association (ERA).
Prior to joining ADVOCATE Ashley worked for a local venture capitalist providing HR services for multiple entities, and preceding her position there, she served in the military for nine years specializing in Human Resources and also working as a paralegal.
Ashley enjoys spending time with her family and friends, her fur babies, and being outside.
Pete Moffatt Senior Director of Business Development
Jennifer Bash, RHIA, CPC, CIRCC, RCC Director of Coding Education
Jennifer has been employed by ADVOCATE since 2002. In her role as Director of Coding Education, her primary focus is on Coder and Physician Education. She also works with the ADVOCATE sales and development team and has been a national speaker on radiology coding and documentation guidelines.
Jennifer is a member of the RBMA, AAPC and AHIMA. She is an AHIMA-Approved ICD-10-CM Trainer and also serves on the RBMA IT Task Force. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Health Information Management & Systems from The Ohio State University in 2001. Jennifer currently resides in Powell, OH with her husband, Brian, and 2 children, Colin & Nora.
Lauren Sloan Director of Regulatory Affairs
Lauren has been with ADVOCATE since 2015. Prior to her current role as Director of Regulatory Affairs, she served as a Process Improvement Specialist and PQRS/Quality Payment Program subject-matter expert, as well as a Client Manager working directly with physicians, administrators, and hospitals. Prior to her time with ADVOCATE, Lauren worked as a clinician for a large health system in Northeast Ohio working directly with patients, physicians, and support staff. She received her Bachelor’s degree from The Ohio State University in 2009 and her Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration from the University of Cincinnati in 2014.
Scott Savelson Director of IT Implementation Services
Scott Savelson has been with employed by ADVOCATE since 2002. He works closely with ADVOCATE clients and their partner facilities to plan and complete all technical connectivity, data capture processes, reconciliation processes, collection agency setups, and a number of customer-specific processes. Scott’s role is unique in that he works closely with our clients from the very start, and remains involved throughout the business relationship. His areas of proficiency extend to nearly every aspect of the billing process. With over 25 years of radiology billing industry experience, he often draws on that depth, serving in a number of advisory roles to support our clients. Scott lives and breathes ADVOCATE!
Rui Li Manager of Business Intelligence
Rui Li holds a Master’s degree in Business Logistics Engineering from the Ohio State University. She has been with ADVOCATE since 2011. She works closely with all departments to facilitate the development and implementation of BI processes and procedures to enhance client revenue, reduce time for reimbursement, and improve efficiency and accuracy.
She is strong at data analytics and computer programming, turning data into useful business information to help decision making and management. She leads the BI team to develop dashboards, reports, applications and tools to deliver clear, reliable performance metrics, deriving actionable insights and strategic decisions.
Brian Bontrager Senior Business Intelligence Systems Architect
Brian has been employed by ADVOCATE since 2014 and brings over 25 years of technology expertise. In his role as Senior Business Intelligence Systems Architect, Brian ensures the technology behind AIMS and FUSION is optimized for internal and external reporting needs. He leads the integration of the latest technology into ADVOCATE’s internal tools, databases, and reporting systems.
Brian received his Bachelor of Science degree in Computer and Information Systems from The Ohio State University. He has spoken at a number of national and regional conferences for database and business intelligence technology.
Amy Shears, CPC, COC Operations Director
Amy has been employed by ADVOCATE since 2011. She has been a certified coder for over 15 years. In her role as Operations Director, her primary focus is on ensuring efficient and seamless client service within the operations team. Amy oversees the operations of the coding, charge entry, and clean claim department including monitoring quality and quantity of workflow. She identifies and implements improvement measures and policies that will enhance the departments.
Amy is a member of the AAPC. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Management with a minor in Health Care Administration from Ashford University. Prior roles include Supervisor for Nationwide Children’s Hospital and Coding Auditor for Ohio Workers Compensation.
Kathleen Tumey Manager of Patient Services
Kathy has been at ADVOCATE since 2011. She started as a Customer Service Representative and was promoted to Patient Services Manager in 2017. In her current role, she oversees ADVOCATE’s Call Center comprised of approximately 35 agents. She ensures that HIPAA is followed on every call and that billing issues are resolved quickly and efficiently. In addition, Kathy manages the Client Support Team which handles unresolved patient issues.
Michelle Dethlefsen Operations Director
Michelle has been employed by ADVOCATE since December 2018. She has been in the medical billing field for over 20 years. In her role as Operations Director, her primary focus is on ensuring efficient and seamless client service within the operations team. Michelle oversees the operations of the Credentialing, Payment, Credit Balance, Accounts Receivable and Customer Service departments, including monitoring quality and quantity of workflow. She identifies and implements improvement measures and policies that will enhance the departments.
Michelle has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from South University. Prior roles include Project Manager and Client Relations Manager with Intermedix, an R1 company, and Billing Advisor with Cardinal Health.
Rebekah Fraley Accounts Receivable Analytics Manager
Rebekah has been employed by ADVOCATE since 2009. Currently in her role as Accounts Receivable Manager, her primary focus is on generating revenue from aged Accounts Receivable balances, identifying trends in the Accounts Receivable and creating strategies to maximize client revenue. Rebekah excels in data analytics and enjoys building trustworthy relationships with clients. Rebekah has 12 years of experience in medical billing with a background in Radiology, Anesthesiology, Pain Management and Auto Insurance billing. She works very closely with all of the Operations and Client Management Teams to efficiently manage a smooth revenue cycle process. Rebekah currently resides in Powell, OH with her family and enjoys experimenting with vegan cuisine.
Sara Brown Accounts Receivable Manager
Sara has been with ADVOCATE since 2009, where she started as an Accounts Receivable Specialist. Sara has also held the title of Accounts Receivable Lead and Accounts Receivable Supervisor. Currently in her role of Accounts Receivable Manager, she oversees the daily operations of the Accounts Receivable department to ensure the proper and efficient workings of unpaid claims for our clients. During Sara’s time at ADVOCATE, she has gained an understanding of the radiology billing process and is able to use that knowledge to implement and update processes to not only enhance the Accounts Receivable department, but other departments as well.
Debby Mann, CPC, RCC, ROCC Coding Compliance Liaison
Debby has been employed by ADVOCATE since 2000 and has been in radiology billing and coding for over 28 years. In her current role as Coding Compliance Liaison, she develops and implements coding processes which focus on compliance with federal and state regulations. In addition, she assists with Coder and Physician education and is a liaison for ADVOCATE’s clients. She speaks nationally on coding and documentation guidelines and has served on numerous committees.
Over the years, Debby has enjoyed being a part of both the Operations and Client Management teams providing her added level of coding and billing expertise. She has supervised and managed teams in our billing operations, helped to develop and implement our coding documentation process, client start-ups, and CAC implementation. She has and continues to provide support to our coding staff, client managers, and our documentation education team.
Candy James, CIRCC, CPC, RCC Coding Quality Manager
Candy has been employed by ADVOCATE since 2003. In her role as Coding Quality Manager, her primary focus is on Audits and making sure the coders are coding procedures accurately. In addition to audits.. She is also responsible for training new coders and training on new coding guidelines and codes. She has also worked with the ADVOCATE sales team when needed and works closely with the Coding Documentation and Education team.
When passing the CIRCC in 2010 she received her certification with Magna Cum Laude Status. Candy attends ZHealth Publishing Interventional Radiology Conference every year to stay on top of Interventional Radiology changes. Candy currently resides in Pataskala, OH with her husband, Chad, and daughter Gracie.
Brooke Allen, RHIT, RCC Coding and Documentation Education Analyst
Brooke has been employed by ADVOCATE since 2013. One of her primary roles as a Coding and Documentation Feedback Analyst is to provide feedback and education to physicians and clients regarding coding and documentation guidelines.
Brooke is a member of AHIMA and NWOHIMA. She received her Associate of Science degree in Health Information Technology from Owens Community College in 2013. Brooke currently resides outside of Toledo, OH with her husband, Josh, and 2 children, Paige and Chase.
Colton Zody Chief Compliance Officer
Colton has been employed by ADVOCATE since 2017. He oversees the ADVOCATE Compliance Program, reviewing compliance issues and concerns within the organization, as well as for clients of ADVOCATE. Colton ensures ADVOCATE’s adherence to all laws and administrative regulations affecting the medical billing and reimbursement process, and serves as a resource for training and education of ADVOCATE employees and clients on these matters. Specifically, Colton oversees ADVOCATE’s compliance with health care laws such as HIPAA/HITECH and the Affordable Care Act, and supervises ADVOCATE’s compliance with CMS regulations, as well as those requirements imposed by commercial payers. Colton is a member of the Health Care Compliance Association.
Prior to joining ADVOCATE, Colton obtained his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Ohio Northern University in Ada, Ohio. While studying Biology Colton spent his summer researching plant pathology at the Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center. Colton obtained his Juris Doctorate from The Claude W. Pettit College of Law at Ohio Northern University. While attending law school Colton was a law clerk for Standley Law Group LLP, an intellectual property firm in Dublin, Ohio.
